The MUFF Society was a feminist community that aimed to celebrate the achievements of women and underrepresented groups in film and television.
We supported an inclusive definition of women and included trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people in it. (H/T)

Mitten is the story of a man who finds a bloodied mitten in the woods and begins a paranoid search for its owner. Mitten has screened at the Dead By Dawn Horror Film Festival, Calgary Horror Con Film Festival, Bram Stoker International Film Festival, and several other festivals around the world.
Fish Out of Water depicts a post-apocalyptic world where isolation is a given and deformity is the norm… where catching a fish takes days, if you are lucky. It tells the story of a world gone to shame… where one can get away with murder, but not without a reckoning.
This month we will be pairing our February feature with the Mini MUFF selection Long Branch. If you expected us to pair American Psycho with something full of guts and gore, then you’re out of luck!
So, what are we actually screening? Well, it’s a SECRET! But what we’re not keeping secret anymore is the wonderful and talented woman who is bringing us this secret screening: Toronto-based editor, Simone Smith. We’re so excited to unveil this secret screening to the audience that we’ll have this month! This secret won't be revealed in advance so you'll have to be there to find out!
Star Princess was submitted to us just under two months ago. We were about halfway through watching it the first time around when we thought, “This is great! It would probably pair pretty well with Ghost World!” A few moments later and we were yelling, “THIS IS FATE.” We won’t spoil anything by saying more than that, but just know that this is a perfect pairing!
Lunchbox Loser is just the kind of local short film we love: full of entertainment, brimming with skill, and driven by amazing female talent on and off the screen.
October: the month of blood, werewolves, and all things weird and creepy (you know how that old saying goes). We already had the blood and werewolves covered with our October feature, Ginger Snaps, so all that was left was to find the weirdest, creepiest thing that we could for Mini MUFF. We found it in the fantastic local short film Not Til We’re Married, directed by Shannon Hanmer.
When we settled on Ginger Snaps for our October screening in NYC, we never dreamed that we would find a short film that was both spooky and focused on the relationship between two sisters.
We love when we get to see stories of women proving themselves. Rosita Lopez for President is a short film that not only had a strong young women in the lead, but also a heartwarming story about acceptance and equality. We. Love. This. Film.
Another month, another Mini MUFF! This time around, our Mini MUFF selection is I Am Not A Weird Person, written by and starring Marni Van Dyk, and directed by Molly McGlynn.
