The MUFF Society

A feminist community that celebrates women in film/TV.

The MUFF Society (Monthly Underground Female Film Society) is a feminist community based in Toronto that celebrates women—both on and off screen—in film and television. We accomplish this by by providing our community with stories of interest, news about local women-centric films and events, and writing/profiles on our blog.

MUFF X Point Break

  • The Royal Cinema 608 College St Toronto, ON, M6G 1B4 Canada (map)

#MUFFSociety #PointBreak

We wanted the MUFF Valentine’s screening to be full of love and there is no greater love than that between Johnny Utah and Bhodi. Or Gary Busey and that meatball sub. Thanks to the incredible eye of director Kathryn Bigelow, Point Break is the visual embodiment of an adrenaline rush. Part surf movie, part bank robber, all badass, every scene is turned all the way up to eleven and doesn’t stop for a moment to catch its breath. Need we say more? We didn’t think so. Point Break has amassed an incredible cult following, and for good reason: there’s a chase scene that involves someone on fire and a dog being thrown. Who throws a dog?! Answer: someone in a badass Kathryn Bigelow movie, that’s who.

Join us in celebration of love and Kathryn Bigelow at The Royal Cinema for our third MUFF Society screening. Click below for more info + tix!
