Pop-Up Shop + Photobooth: 8:00 PM
Film: 9:00 PM
Okay ladies, grab a broom and form a circle because we've got a witch to save! We love going scary and genre for Halloween as much as anyone else, but we thought it was high time we paid homage to one of the best witchy movies of all time, a movie that also gave us the gift of Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock playing sisters—swoon! Practical Magic is based on a book by Alice Hoffman and the fantastic Robin Swicord (Little Women, Matilda, The Jane Austen Book Club, Wakefield) co-wrote the screenplay.
The witches in Practical Magic might be able to cast spells, but they have the same problems we do: love problems. An old family curse is to blame and no matter how hard they try, Sally and Gillian can't seem to avoid it. And it's not until they get over old wounds and come together as sisters do they discover the strongest magic of all: family. All together now: awwwww. Also did we mention there's a super hot Aidan Quinn in this movie? Plus Dianne Wiest is in it too so really, it's a win-win all around. Hold on to your husbands, girls!
Our Mini MUFF selection for this month is the fantastically gory UNDRESS ME from writer/director Amelia Moses. It is a previous selection of Monster Fest, Celluloid Screams: Sheffield Horror Film Festival, Fantasia International Film Festival, Etheria Film Night, and more!
As always, we will have lots to enjoy prior to the film: a photobooth with props, a witchy playlist, three incredible local vendors selling their wares, and even a tarot card reader! And be sure to show up on time because we will have a TON of amazing prizes to win!!
Our pop-up shop will include:
Brandy with The Femme Fandom Fix
Paige with Frills & Morbidity
Lea with Lea’s Boutique
Lara with Fiendish Fancies
PLUS: Tarot Card Readings from Sonia!
A big thank you to our MUFF Friends & sponsors of this event: Imagine Cinemas Carlton, The Beguiling, The Candy Bar, Condom Shack, Lea’s Boutique, The Femme Fandom Fix, and Frills & Morbidity.
