The MUFF Society

A feminist community that celebrates women in film/TV.

The MUFF Society is a feminist screening series and community based in Toronto that aims to champion women in film both on and off screen. We do this through a variety of initiatives, including a short film program (miniMUFF), conversation series (Reel Girl Talk), documentary series (HER-Story), and blog.

October is our favorite month! Leather jackets, boots, scarves, pumpkin spice lattes…just kidding. We’re more into Halloween, cheesy special effects, horror films, scaring kids and binging on massive bags of candy. Although we do love the occasional latte.

Come celebrate the scariest month of all with MUFF and a screening of GINGER SNAPS on October 15th! Written by Karen Walton, the film is an ode to sisterhood, womanhood, and, uh, werewolf-hood. We want to tear everything to fucking pieces with you! As usual, MUFF Society will be showcasing a local short film, giving away film-themed prizes and freebies, and they’ll even have a werewolf inspired photobooth.

Stay tuned for more announcements coming up as the MUFF fright night gets closer! Let’s get drunk on blood. You’ll love it.
