Listen Up: The Future of MUFF NYC

Listen Up: The Future of MUFF NYC

Hey friends,

Sit down and let me tell you a story. Imagine I am speaking to you with either Chistoph Waltz or Saoirse Ronan's voice because have you Googled them lately? They are the people you want reading you stories and no one else.

As you probably know, the MUFF Society is made up of hard working MUFFians who volunteer their time to make the magic happen—everything from programming to coming up with cool prizes to finding the best gifs and in between. We do all of this whilst managing actual, paying jobs because, well, we have bills to pay. Unfortunately. Also, paying jobs are fun! Not knocking those. Anyway, as I was saying, when you've got a bunch of hard-working, busy ladies running shit, sometimes priorities shift.

When my amazingly talented, boss of a friend Lindsay approached me about starting MUFF NYC, I was floored because she's someone I admire a lot. She works damn hard and has the experiences and adventures to prove it. I've been so humbled that she added MUFF NYC to that list of experiences. Fortunately for her, she'll be traveling more this spring for work, no doubt on many more amazing adventures. And fortunately for the rest of her outstanding crew as well because they're also busy being bosses at school, their jobs, in general.

Unfortunately for The MUFF Society, that means MUFF NYC is going on a little hiatus. I know, I know. I'm as sad as you all are. But this is what happens when you want only the best, boss women, running your shit. So I'm okay with that.

MUFF NYC will hopefully, fingers crossed, be back in the spring or summer! In the meantime, keep watching women-directed films and spreading the women-in-film love. And if you're keen on being a part of the MUFF NYC resurrection in the spring, get at Lindsay here: muffsociety.nyc@gmail.com Also, write something for our blog, why don't you
