MUFF NYC x Death Proof
#MUFFxNYC - Death Proof (August 20th)
Our MUFF keeps growing....
The MUFF Society NYC had its third screening at Videology on August 20th. This time, we celebrated kick-ass women with Tarantino's Death Proof.
While everyone settled in with their drinks and plates of nachos, we brought out the photo-booth and people had a blast posing with it. Each table was decorated with toy cars and "Jungle Julia" photos in honor of the film.
Our wonderful emcee and MUFF Producer Lindsay got the evening going by introducing our fantastic friends at Big Vision Empty Wallet who were on hand again to discuss their amazing work supporting women in the industry through Writers Labs and diversity incentives. Check them out!
Next up was some Quentin Tarantino trivia. As a prize, the winner received two passes to The Slumber Party Massacre, which is playing in Nitehawk's not-to-be-missed She Made It film series. After that we picked a raffle winner, who got a prize that Tarantino himself would love--a gift card for a foot massage from the amazing and generous Araina A. Linton of Massage Artistry!
We were so lucky to be able to screen the spunky and colorful Crystal before Death Proof. Both films depict strong, unapologetically feisty females. Our kind of gals! Unfortunately, director Chell Stephen couldn't be there in person (don't miss her Mini MUFF profile on the blog though), but Bryan Parker who co-produced, and Gregg Conde the Director of Photography were there to send Chell's regards and introduce the film! Thanks guys!
Then before you could recite "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening," we were watching DEATH PROOF and cheering for Zoë Bell and her friends as they took on Stuntman Mike.
We had so much fun at this event and we can't wait for the next one on September 17th when we screen Tank Girl!
