MUFF x It Takes Two

MUFF x It Takes Two

Sigh. Summer is officially over. Well, technically we still have a few weeks until the official start of fall but it might as well be the end of summer. There's been a bit of crispness in the air the past few days; school buses are starting to make their rounds; we're all gazing longingly at the scarves in our closet; the smell of PSL is in the air...

But before we dive head into a pile of leaves, let's give summer one last "hurrah" by re-living our magical August MUFF event: It Takes Two. If you've never seen It Takes Two, for shame for shame. It's everyone you could ever need in a nineties movie: identical strangers, Steve Guttenberg, a food fight. There's other stuff too, sure, but what else do you really need? Exactly.

Before our screening started, we rocked out our lobby party with four rad vendors at our Pop-Up Shop: Leah with Leah Farmer Art, Margeaux with Floral Manifesto, Nezhla with YABA Home & Decor, Jennifer with Nature Queen. We absolutely love supporting local artisans and it was hard to not spend all of our dollars on their mighty fine wares.

We also played a fun game of "can you guess which Olsen twin this is?" with our photo booth props except we had no idea either so everyone was a winner! Yay!

Our screening kicked off with a round of raffle prizes. This month we had goodies from The Candy Bar, The Beguiling, Condom Shack, and Butt'n Booty. Due to the few youths in the audience, we actually had to keep an eye on what prizes we were giving to each winner. DO NOT WORRY, WE GAVE THE KID THE BAG OF CANDY. Phew!

It's always a joy to give candy to a child.

mini MUFF Programmer Nicole came up and introduced our short film, The Fortune Teller. Since It Takes Two starred the Olsen twins at a young age, we wanted a short starring young actors too! We also managed to find a short that was also MADE by young filmmakers. How cool is that! The Fortune Teller was also part of this year's TIFF Kids. You can read a short 'n sweet interview with one of the filmmakers HERE and you can watch the short HERE. (That Aias is going places.)

Another super special treat we had for our audience was a person video intro from the writer of It Takes Two Deborah Dean Davis. She's a powerhouse writer for TV and film and her empowering words definitely left some teary eyes in the audience.
